If you own a camper and are looking for some unique places to stay all around the country - a Harvest Hosts Membership is an absolute necessity.
Harvest Hosts has a network of breweries, wineries, campgrounds, churches, baseball stadiums, restaurants, bars, family farms, and other private companies nationwide that have land that you’re able to park on.
The membership comes with your first night free at every single location. Therefore, if you’re going on a road trip that includes several destinations, your first night at every accommodation is included and it literally costs you $0.
Similarly to companies like AirBNB or VRBO, every Harvest Hosts location has their own set of accommodations, rules, and amenities that they’re able to offer.
For example, some accommodations will allow you to stay additional nights either for free or for a small fee. Other accommodations offer electricity, water refills, or some even offer full water/electric/sewage hookups.
My favorite part of Harvest Hosts is that you have the ability to support small businesses all over the country.

Since your membership covers your one-night stay, Harvest Hosts recommends that you spend around $30 at each location to show support.
Depending on the location type, this could be purchasing a meal, shopping at their local store, or partaking in other services that they have to offer.
Now you might think, “$30 per location is expensive.”
But typically, the purchases you make are ones that you’d have to pay for anyway - such as meals.
So you are paying $30 per location and getting a meal rather than spending $30 only to sleep there plus having to buy a meal from somewhere else separately.
So far, our Harvest Hosts locations have blown any expectations out of the water.
Our first stay was in Illinois at the Gateway Grizzle’s stadium.
While we were there, we were having issues with our truck and didn’t know if we had to extend our stay and they were more than happy for us to stick around for however long we needed.
We had a ton of room to park, a view of the Gateway Arch, and a really peaceful environment for us since there weren’t any events scheduled for our stay.
Our next stay was at Rush Acres Farm in Wentzville, Missouri.

When we arrived, we had truck issues once again (yes, it’s been fun). Tyler immediately opened the hood once we got there and one of their staff members who happened to work in mechanics spent more than an hour helping my husband figure out what the problem was.
After that was complete, another staff member took us on a tour of the farm, introduced us to all of the animals, let our two-year-old pet them, and then brought us to their gift shop where they sold handmade soaps and body scrubs, handmade jewelry, alpaca themed gifts, and clothing made out of alpaca material.
Harvest Hosts is, hands-down, the cheapest and most fun way to park and sleep around the country in a camper.
If you do even a small amount of camper-style traveling each year, having a Harvest Hosts membership will help you have an affordable, unique, and memorable experience - no matter where your adventure takes you!
